A Feast for the Eyes

Some meals are meant to be savored, and some deserve to be remembered. Being invited to capture a team’s craft is never something I take for granted. Grateful to L’ORTO for letting me do my thing.

Huge thanks to Chef Antonio Camilli and the team for letting me capture their work.

Behind the Scenes at L’ORTO

Some people are just in their element. Watching Chef Antonio Camilli at work felt like stepping into a masterclass—effortless, precise, completely in control.

When he reached out for this, I was honestly touched. I hadn’t shot food in a while, and that little voice of doubt crept in. But the moment I stepped into the kitchen, camera in hand, it all disappeared. This wasn’t just a shoot—it felt more like a documentary. The energy, the movement, the rhythm of the team. No staged moments, just real ones.

The Chaos & The Craft

Shooting in the kitchen is a different beast. You’re chasing the shot while the dish is racing against time—trying to capture the perfect pour, the cleanest drips, and a chef who doesn’t look like he’s mid-exorcism.

There’s no time to adjust your lights, no carefully planned poses, no second takes. You adapt, shoot, and trust your instincts. It’s fast, unpredictable, and exactly why I love it.
